How does it work?
It’s simple: The Lange Nacht ticket gives you admission to the "Lange Nacht der Museen Regensburg" event. This means access to all participating exhibition venues for one adult and up to four children (ages 4–14) for the evening program. Additionally, the ticket serves as a bus fare for the RVV shuttle buses, which will take you to the locations marked "Mit dem Shuttle" (By Shuttle).
How do I get tickets?
Advance tickets cost €20 plus presale and system fees and can be purchased here on our website. Tickets are also available in advance at most of the venues. On the day of the event, ticket sales start at the ticket tent at Haidplatz at 1:00 pm, and at the participating venues starting at 6.00 pm. Tickets at the box office/evening box office cost €20.
Are there any discounts?
There are no discounts for retirees, students, or Regensburg city pass (Stadtpass) holders. An accompanying person for someone with a severe disability gets free admission if the official severe disability ID card contains the letter "B" and the note "Die Berechtigung zur Mitnahme einer Begleitperson ist nachgewiesen" (Authorization to take an accompanying person is proven). The accompanying person gets in for free – but does not receive their own ticket!
Are the annual passes of the individual museums valid during the Long Night?
No, the Long Night is an exclusive event, so unfortunately, annual museum passes are not valid on this evening.
Where can I get the printed program?
Printed programs are available at the participating exhibition venues – and will still be there on the evening of the Long Night itself. In addition, program guides are available on the day of the event starting at 1.00 pm at the info and ticket tent at Haidplatz.
You will soon be able to download the program guide as a PDF here on our website. Please note, however, that due to uncertain planning at the time of publication, many contributions are only mentioned in general terms or not at all in the printed guide. Therefore, we highly recommend additionally checking the current pages on the homepage.
Where does the Long Night take place?
Numerous museums, galleries, churches, and historical sites are taking part in the second Long Night of Museums in Regensburg. They are the locations of the event. You can find out where the individual venues are located on the city maps provided with the individual program items.
Is the event accessible, e.g. for wheelchairs?
Information regarding accessibility can be found on the program pages of the individual museums and exhibition venues. It states there whether the venue is fully accessible. Further details – for example, regarding accessible restrooms, audio guides, or other amenities – can also be found on the respective program page, provided they are available at the venue. If you need additional information on accessibility, please contact the respective museum or exhibition venue directly.
How long does the Long Night of Museums Regensburg last?
It begins at 6.00 pm and ends at 1.00 am. Program items such as city tours, presentations, or music only take place at the specified times. For certain tours, advance registration is also required. You can find information on this on the program pages of the respective venues here on our website.
How do I get from place to place?
Most of the venues and art locations are within walking distance from Haidplatz, so you can easily walk from one place to the next. For venues further away, RVV shuttle buses are available, running every 20 minutes. The first buses leave the central station (Hauptbahnhof) between 5.45 pm and 6.00 pm, and the last ones run around 1.00 am. The venues connected to the shuttle system are highlighted in color on the website and in the program guide. You can find the respective bus stops on the program pages of the individual venues. How many exhibition venues should I plan to visit?
We recommend planning for 4–5 exhibition venues to begin with. The venues vary in size, so some can be visited faster than others. This leaves enough time to relax and enjoy the program, and to spontaneously visit other venues along the way.
Where can I start?
There is no fixed starting point. You can start at any participating venue. On our website, you can check out the programs of the respective venues in advance and put together your own personalized route using the "Meine Nacht" (My Night) feature. Alternatively, you are welcome to get advice at the info booth at Haidplatz.
How do I create "Meine Nacht" ("My Night")?
In the "Meine Nacht" section, you can plan your individual Long Night by organizing the order of the venues you want to visit. An event can easily be added to MY NIGHT by clicking the heart icon.
Should I expect wait times?
Yes, wait times can occur when a venue is at high capacity. In this case, it’s worth switching to another nearby venue and perhaps returning later.
Do I have to check my bag?
Please check directly with the respective venue whether bags or backpacks must be checked in or stored in lockers for security reasons. Also, please pay attention to the signs and instructions on-site.
Where does the children’s program take place?
Some venues offer a children's program in the afternoon. You can find the addresses and programs of the respective venues on the children's program page.
How and how long are young people allowed to visit the Long Night?
The Youth Protection Act applies. This means that teens aged 16 and over may attend the event unaccompanied until midnight at the latest. For teens under 16 in general, or for 16- and 17-year-olds who want to stay past midnight, a parent, legal guardian, or an officially designated chaperone must assume supervision. The supervision responsibility should be explicitly transferred by the parents for the event, ideally confirmed in writing and provided with a phone number where the parents can be reached. What do I see on the poster motif?
This year's event motif for the Long Night is the painting "Angeli ribelli: Succubus" by Regensburg artist Barbara Muhr. It shows a falling figure that creates a strong visual tension between strength and vulnerability. Inspired by the biblical fall of the rebel angels, the work serves as a modern metaphor for themes such as power, powerlessness, and the dynamics of human relationships. Visitors are invited to view the original up close at the Städtische Galerie im Leeren Beutel.
