Ort der friedlichen Begegnung „Misrach" und Reichsstadtbrunnen
Neupfarrplatz
The "Ort der friedlichen Begegnung" (Place of Peaceful Encounter) by the Israeli sculptor Dani Karavan traces the ground plan of the medieval synagogue on Neupfarrplatz and commemorates the coexistence of Jews and Christians in Regensburg. Right beside it stands the Reichsstadtbrunnen fountain of 1721, which recalls the imperial city’s success in its legal dispute with the monasteries over the municipal monopoly on brewing and serving beer.
