Ort der friedlichen Begegnung „Misrach" und Reichsstadtbrunnen

Neupfarrplatz

The "Ort der friedlichen Begegnung" (Place of Peaceful Encounter) by the Israeli sculptor Dani Karavan traces the ground plan of the medieval synagogue on Neupfarrplatz and commemorates the coexistence of Jews and Christians in Regensburg. Right beside it stands the Reichsstadtbrunnen fountain of 1721, which recalls the imperial city’s success in its legal dispute with the monasteries over the municipal monopoly on brewing and serving beer.

Porta Praetoria

The visible remains of the Roman city gate from the 2nd century are part of the legionary fortress Castra Regina and one of the oldest stone structures north of the Alps.

The so-called "Römerturm" (Roman Tower) at Alter Kornmarkt is a medieval keep of the former ducal palace and offers an insight into medieval building techniques.
