Dackelmuseum (Dachshund Museum)

“Der Dackel – Eine Weltanschauung” (The Dachshund: A World View) will be presented in an extraordinary exhibition drawn from the world’s largest dachshund collection, featuring more than 30,000 exhibits. This unique life’s work is recognized in Bavaria as a museum of cultural history. Highlights include the dachshund in aristocratic life, the dachshund in hunting, the dachshund and beer, Gustl Bayrhammer with Pumuckl and “Hausmeister Krause” from the famous German children’s TV show, as well as “Waldi,” the dachshund mascot of the 1972 Olympic Games. All are presented with affection, humor, and a deep appreciation for the dachshund, a breed that represents Bavaria like no other.
