Galerie Claus specializes in fine art photography, adding a distinctive dimension to Regensburg’s art scene. The current exhibition is presenting a retrospective of Rainer Werner Fassbinder and the world of German cinema in the 1970s, as captured by Michael Friedel. These remarkable analog photographs portray such icons as Hanna Schygulla, Gunter Sachs, Klaus Kinski, and others, making them genuine visual documents of this artistically vibrant era. Michael Friedel (b. 1935) is one of Germany’s most renowned photographers and has photographed celebrities including Elvis Presley and Romy Schneider. He is particularly well-known for his acclaimed photojournalistic work documenting indigenous peoples around the world.
